This is our final week of school for the 2007-08 school year. The last few weeks have really flown by. The EC students will not attend school on Thursday, June 5. Their last day will be Wednesday, June 4. Our last three days of school will focus on the letters W-Z. Our alphabet activities for the week include, Walt Disney Day and extra play. Here are the plans for the week.
Monday:
We will work on the letter W today. We will make a watercolor whale for our craft. We will complete a W page for our alphabet books. We will work on sorting letters and objects.
Tuesday:
We will focus on the letter X today. We will create an X book and complete our X alphabet page. We will also play an alphabet matching game.
Wednesday:
Today we will finish the alphabet with letter Y and Z. We will decorate the covers of our alphabet books. We will complete our Y and Z pages. We will also play a counting game.

Letters S -V
The school year is almost at an end. These will be our last two weeks of school. We will finish out the end of the alphabet during this time. For the week we will focus on the letters S-V. We will do some corresponding alphabet activities. Here are the plans for the week.
Monday:
There will be no school due to the Memorial Day holiday.
Tuesday:
We will work with the letter S today. Each class will make an S page for their alphabet books. We will create a scarecrow. We will play with shaving cream if time allows. Finally, we will create a graph. We will talk about which soup we like the best and then graph the results. Your child can wear something to support their favorite sports team.
Wednesday:
We will work with the letter T today. Each class will make a T page for their alphabet books. We will make some turtles for our craft. The morning class will have a language lesson with Jacki Navarro. Your child can bring their favorite teddy bear to school today.
Thursday:
We will work with the letter U today. Each class will make a U page for their alphabet books. We will do some letter stamping and create an umbrella. We will also play an alphabet game and listen to our story under the table.
Friday:
We will have our end of the year picnic.

Letter N-R
Our ABC theme continues as we count down to the last days of school. We will be working on the letters N-R this week. We will also do our ABC activities along with the rest of the school. Our ABC activities ofr the week will include, cleaning up our room, reading a story outside, having a popsicle treat, quiet talking for the day, and listening to rock 'n' roll. Here are this week's plans.
Monday:
We will use noodles to create an N craft. We will complete our N alphabet pages. Both classes will play a counting game. The afternooon class will have a language lesson with Jacki Navarro. We will spend some time neatening our room.
Tuesday:
Both classes will create an octopus for O day. We will complete our O alphabet page. Both classes will play a sorting, alphabet game. We will listen to our daily story outside if the weather is nice.
Wednesday:
The students will create a penguin for P day. All students will complete their P alphabet pages. The morning students will have a language lesson with Jacki Navarro. Both classes will work on their counting skills by playing math games. Both classes will have a popsicle treat.
Thursday:
The students will create queen crowns for the letter Q. Both classes will complete their Q alphabet pages. We will work on sorting as well. The activity of the day is quiet talking. We will talk about different levels of volume we can use for our voices.
Friday:
The students will glue rice onto a letter R. We will complete our R pages for our alphabet books. Both AM and PM classes will have gym. We will listen to some Rock 'n' Roll music.

We will do some alphabet coloring pages. We will create paper ice cream cones using shapes. We will also treat ourselves to some real ice cream. We will do an I page in our alphabet books. The afternoon class will have a language lesson with Jacki Navarro.
Tuesday:
The students will create a jellyfish for the letter J. They will create a J page for their alphabet books. We will work on numbers 9 and 10. The afternoon class will work on grouping items in different number groups.

The students will make kites for the letter K. They will make a K page for their alphabet book. The students will also do some letter stamping. The morning students will have a language lesson with Jacki Navarro.

ABC's
We will be continuing our ABC theme until the end of our school year. This week will be the letters D-H. Our ABC activities for the week will include dancing, earth activities, hat day and green day. We will work on alphabet activities in the classroom such as puzzles, stamping, sorting and printing. This week will also be our inclusion field trip on May 7. Here are the plans for this week.
Monday:
We will do some letter stamping with play dough. We will do a D page in our alphabet books for both morning and afternoon. We will also be making dogs. Our ABC activity for the day is dancing. The afternoon class will have a language lesson with Jacki Navarro.
Tuesday:
We will use rubbing plates to create alphabet pictures. We will make an E page in our alphabet books. We will also make an elephant craft. For our Earth Day activities we will talk about all the different things we can do to help Earth. We will also work with numbers 7 and 8.
Wednesday:
This is our inclusion day to Prairieview. Both morning and afternoon students will come in the morning. All students need to be picked up by 11:25.

This week will be another mixed theme. We will finish out our Spring theme on Monday and Tuesday. Then starting on Wednesday we will start our ABC countdown with the letter A. This theme will continue until the end of the school year. Every day we will focus on a new letter. We will create our own ABC books in both classes. Here are our plans for the week.
Monday:
We will talk more about flowers, plants, and Spring. We will read Fran's Flower. The students will make their own lacers. The students will do some work on matching. There will be no afternoon language lesson.
Tuesday:
We will read the Surprise Garden. We will make umbrellas for Spring. We will also spend some time looking at different seeds you might find in a garden. Both classes will work on numbers 5 and 6. The afternoon class will work on sequencing.
Wednesday:
We will begin the ABC countdown with the letter A. We will make an A page for our Alphabet book. We will also make alligators. The morning class will have a language lesson with Jacki Navarro.
Thursday:

We will read a book about spring. We will talk about rain and clouds. We will make our own clouds. We will also do some work on matching.
Tuesday:
We will learn about sunflowers. We will make our own sunflowers and talk about their seeds. We will also do some activities with numbers 3 and 4.
Wednesday:
We will continue to learn about sunflowers. We will do an activity to measure the student's height and then create sunflowers that are the same height. The morning class will have a language lesson with Jacki Navarro.
Thursday:
We will do an activity to work on the student's tearing and cutting skills. We will use these skills to create a raindrop and a sunflower.
Friday:

More Butterflies
We are still waiting to receive our caterpillars. Hopefully, we will get them by Tuesday. When the butterflies do arrive we will spend time watching the caterpillars go through their life cycles. For the next two weeks we will have a mixed theme. We will do one more week on butterflies and then transition into a new theme, Spring. We will talk about the season, the weather, rain, flowers, etc. Here are our plans for this week.
Monday:
The students will use watercolors and coffee filters to create their own butterflies. The students and I will discuss whether or not butterflies have any natural enemies. We will also make a shape butterfly. The afternoon class will have a language lesson with Jacki Navarro.

Wednesday:
We will make hand print butterflies. We will talk about the butterfly life cycle again, this time focusing on the Monarch butterfly. The morning class will have a language lesson with Jacki Navarro.
